Childbirth Classes - Canandaigua

Service Description

This class runs for 9 session: 8 Monday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 pm., February 26 through April 14, 2026, AND Saturday, April 19 from 1:30 to 6:00 pm. Online signup closes after class 1. Contact me to sign up any time before class 3. This comprehensive class series, which includes 24 instructional hours, is the only class you'll need to be fully prepared for the birth of your choice, whether you are planning to give birth in a hospital, at home, or in a freestanding birth center. Covering pregnancy health, preparing for labor, normal labor and variations, and continuing on through breastfeeding and the postpartum period, you and your partner will be prepared to labor and to parent a newborn with confidence, For more details, please see the "Classes" page. ***If the minimum number of participants for this class is not met, I will reach out to you. You will have the choice to postpone the class series to see if more sign up, receive a full refund, transfer to another class, or apply the class fee toward private classes.*** If you would prefer to pay a deposit ($75) at the time of signing up and the remainder ($275) at class one, please use the contact form on this website to reach out to me, and I will send you an alternative sign-up form and an invoice for the deposit. The Informed Beginnings curriculum is designed to equip couples with the knowledge and skills needed to have a positive birth experience with a minimum of medical intervention, without judgment when intervention is used out of choice or out of medical necessity. Understanding how labor works, how to work with labor, the plethora of medical options, and how to provide support during labor gives you the best odds for a healthy, happy birth day. A maximum of 6 couples (fewer in some locations due to space considerations) ensures individual attention and time for your questions to be answered. Note: The class fee includes the birthing person and birth partner. If others will be present at your birth (a friend, relative or doula), you are welcome to bring them to some sessions as a guest.
